Haven is a powerful Android application that prioritizes personal privacy while providing robust protection for physical spaces and belongings. It empowers users to safeguard their personal spaces without compromising their privacy. Haven leverages the sensors present in Android devices to detect and monitor motion, sound, vibration, and light.

Designed with investigative journalists, human rights defenders, and individuals at risk of forced disappearance in mind, Haven offers a novel approach to creating a new kind of herd immunity against those seeking to silence citizens. By combining the multitude of sensors found in smartphones with secure communication technologies such as Signal and Tor, Haven effectively prevents malicious individuals from operating undetected.

Safety through Sensors

Haven prioritizes privacy by only capturing and storing images and sound when triggered by specific events such as motion or volume changes. All recorded data is stored locally on the device. Users have the flexibility to position their device's camera to capture visible motion or discreetly place it to detect surrounding noises. Intrusion events are instantly reported via secure notifications, and users can remotely access event logs at any time.

The following sensors are monitored for measurable changes and recorded in the event log:

• Accelerometer: Detects motion and vibration of the phone
• Camera: Captures motion in the phone's visible surroundings using either the front or back camera
• Microphone: Records environmental noises
• Light: Detects changes in ambient light levels using the light sensor
• Power: Alerts users to device disconnection, power loss, or shutdown
